We need to connect science and policy

In an address at the Canadian Club Toronto, Michael McCain remains hopeful that challenges and setbacks in leadership and environmental progress are temporary obstacles to a more sustainable and socially responsible future. He also cautioned the federal government to remove bad policies that restrict the private sector from contributing to progress on sustainability.

“The potential disconnect of science from climate discourse and public policy and substituting ideology in its place is our biggest threat.”

“Bill C-59 is only a risk to those who are trying to demonstrate leadership in climate action, and the unintended consequences of C-59 are to dwarf its decent intentions.”
