Understanding the carbon capture ecosystem
Heather Chalmers emphasizes GE Vernova’s commitment to deepen knowledge of carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies to help reduce emissions from gas turbines globally. Her comments at the International Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies conference were quoted in a Calgary Herald column about the prospects of CCUS projects in Alberta and GE Vernova’s plans for a 465-megawatt gas fired power facility in the province.
“We’re involved in different CCUS projects around the world . . . The one that I’m really excited to talk about is the project that we’re developing here in Alberta. Typically, we don’t play the developer role. We are a technology provider. But our rationale here is to understand the entire ecosystem of CCUS.”
