Statement on the release of a common set of principles to guide a restart of the Canadian economy

The Business Council of Canada is pleased to see the release of a common set of principles to guide a restart of the Canadian economy. We commend the Prime Minister and the Premiers for recognizing the importance of a gradual approach that is informed by science and protects the health of Canadians. As we said in our open letter on April 16, we in the business community are ready to do our part in safeguarding public health while guiding Canada toward a durable economic recovery. We will be looking to governments across the country to ensure that employers have access to protective equipment for those who need it, and to significantly ramp up COVID-19 testing and contact tracing to prevent further outbreaks.
