Innovating our path to a cleaner energy future
Scott Balfour emphasizes the close connection between innovation and creating a cleaner energy system. He shares this perspective in the announcement that Emera Technologies Limited, a subsidiary of Emera Inc., and NOVONIX Limited, a leading battery materials and technology company in Halifax, successfully delivered their first-of-its-kind, custom-designed microgrid battery prototype. The prototype is designed to support Emera Technologies’ residential microgrid system, BlockEnergy, currently operating in a residential pilot project in Florida. This enables rooftop solar power to be stored and dispersed to the nearby community through smart distributed controls.
