Industry Strategy Council offers framework for a growth plan based on partnership

One of the lessons of the pandemic is that there are no limits to what we can achieve when the private and public sectors work together.

That’s why I was very pleased to see the word “partnership” come up so often (62 times on my count) in the Industry Strategy Council’s report for Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. And why I was glad to see three members of the Business Council of Canada — Suncor’s Mark Little, D2L’s John Baker, Cabot Links’ Ben Cowan-Dewar — assist Monique F. Leroux on the Council.

If we’re going to ensure that Canada’s economic recovery is more than just a hashtag or slogan, then we need to commit to a robust and lasting partnership. I know that Canadian business leaders are ready and eager to get to work.

Today’s report delivered to Minister Navdeep Bains is a good start, so I encourage everyone to give it a read.
