Canadian business leaders welcome Canada-U.K. trade talks

Last year, Canadian business leaders welcomed the continuity trade agreement with the United Kingdom as a positive step toward a more comprehensive and tailor-made deal with our third-largest export market.  

We are very pleased today with the launch of negotiations to secure a long-term agreement that results in prosperity for citizens on both sides of the Atlantic.

At a time of increased global volatility and a shifting geopolitical environment, it is imperative that Canada boosts its economic resiliency by strengthening relations with reliable partners and longstanding allies such as the U.K.
