Business Council welcomes approval of Cedar LNG project

The Business Council of Canada congratulates the federal and British Columbia governments, the Haisla Nation and Pembina Pipeline Corporation on this week’s approval of the Cedar LNG export project.

“Cedar LNG will allow Canada to export some of the cleanest LNG anywhere in the world, contributing to global energy security and helping our partners in Asia to reduce their reliance on more emissions-intensive fuels,” said Business Council President and CEO Goldy Hyder.

The fact that the Haisla Nation will be the majority owner of the proposed facility is also an important milestone, signalling First Nations action to control their economic destiny while contributing to Canada’s energy transition.
