Business Council of Canada mourns the passing of The Honourable Jim Carr  

Statement by Goldy Hyder, President and CEO, Business Council of Canada  

I am truly saddened by Jim Carr’s passing. He was a thoughtful, talented and inspiring leader who always acted with integrity and humility to advance the public interest.

As founding CEO of the Business Council of Manitoba, and later as a federal cabinet minister, he understood the vital role the private sector plays in making life better for all Canadians. His positive impact on Canada will be felt for decades to come.  

I had the privilege of working closely with Jim over the years and always cherished our friendship. On behalf of the Business Council of Canada, I offer our deepest condolences to Jim’s wife Colleen and his family.
