Advancing Canada’s net-zero goals

Avik Dey believes it is important for companies to show leadership in advancing their own and Canada’s net-zero goals. He shares his perspective in an interview with The Globe and Mail about Capital Power’s partnership with Ontario Power generation to jointly asses the development and deployment of grid-scale small modular reactors (SMRs) to provide clean, reliable nuclear energy for Alberta.

“It’s not so much about being first. But if we have an ambition to decarbonize our own fleet before 2045, and advance the province and the country’s ambitions on their net-zero and decarbonization goals, it requires companies like us to step up. In my mind, if not us, then who?”
