Canada’s business leaders thank The Honourable Bill Morneau for his service to Canada as finance minister and his commitment to sound public policy over the past five years in extremely challenging circumstances. Canada needs strong and steady leadership during these extraordinary times to help ensure a healthy and durable economic recovery.  We look forward to continuing to work with the federal government on a plan to promote economic growth, create jobs and put Canada back on a path to fiscal sustainability.

We agree with Mr. Morneau that the world needs more Canada, not less, and we wish him well as he puts his name forward to become the next Secretary General of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.
