Barriers facing Canada’s energy sector
Heather Exner-Pirot raises the alarm about the long-term effects of limited market access and pipeline shortages on Canada’s energy sector. She shares her perspective with the Canadian Press for an article about Canada’s oil export capacities.
“There is no technical, logistical or economic reason to not produce more oil in this country. It’s just the transportation. And sometimes you think it’s strategic, because the whole strategy of the environmental movement was to attack the pipeline industry. And so now there is a de facto production cap, and that is a problem for the industry.”
