In its annual ranking of Canada’s 50 best corporate citizens, Corporate Knights magazine has recognized HSBC Bank Canada as a top performer in gender diversity. Michael Yow, the magazine’s Director of Research, said HSBC’s gender-balanced board of directors was a major factor behind the bank’s third-place finish in the 2017 rankings. The Corporate Knights Best 50 ranking measures a diverse range of Canadian enterprises on a suite of 14 performance indicators, including greenhouse gas productivity, taxes paid, health and safety performance and pension fund quality. “As Canada’s leading international bank, diversity is part of our DNA,” said Sandra Stuart, President and CEO, HSBC Bank Canada. “It’s a competitive advantage, helping us attract and retain some of the best and the brightest people across Canada to work – and bank – with us.” For more information, see the official announcement – [.pdf download]
